About the Bear Viewing Adventure

Situated about 70 miles southwest of Anchorage near Lake Clark National Park, Redoubt Bay Lodge (https://redoubtbaylodge.com/)  serves as the base for our unforgettable bear watching excursions. This area is home to a dense population of coastal brown bears and black bears who gather to feed on Coho and Sockeye salmon during summer months — an ideal setting for viewing these majestic creatures up close.

Guests fly by floatplane from Anchorage to Redoubt Bay and are greeted by experienced naturalist guides. Viewing takes place from a covered pontoon boat as you explore the scenic Big River Lakes and shoreline habitats where bears fish and interact with their environment.  This are attracts many fisherman and bear viewers alike, luckily the open space of Big River Lakes allows everyone to enjoy the views of these amazing animals.
